Daily Checks

Check Coolant Level:Ensure the coolant level is within the normal range and top up or replace the coolant as needed.

Check Oil Level:Check the oil level daily before starting the generator to ensure it is sufficient and clean.

Check Fuel System:Check the fuel tank level to ensure adequate fuel.Regularly clean the fuel tank to prevent impurities from entering the fuel system.

Check Battery Condition:Check the battery voltage and electrolyte level to ensure the battery is fully charged and the electrolyte is sufficient.

• Check Belts and Fans:Inspect the belts for tension and wear, and ensure the fans are operating normally.

Regular Maintenance

• Change Oil and Oil Filter:Replace the oil and oil filter regularly based on usage and environment. It is generally recommended to do this every 250 hours or 6 months.

• Change Fuel Filter:Regularly replace the fuel filter to prevent impurities in the fuel from entering the engine. It is generally recommended to do this every 500 hours or 12 months.

• Change Air Filter:Regularly replace the air filter to ensure smooth air intake for the engine. It is generally recommended to do this every 500 hours or 12 months.

• Inspect Cooling System:Regularly inspect the cooling system, including the radiator, cooling fan,and coolant,to ensure it is functioning properly.Clean the radiator at least once a year to prevent scale and debris blockage.

• Inspect Electrical System:Regularly inspect the generator's electrical system,including brushes,slip rings,and wiring,to ensure it is functioning properly.

In-Depth Maintenance

• Clean the Engine:Regularly clean the engine surface to remove dust and oil, preventing the engine from overheating.

• Inspect Fuel Injectors and Fuel Pump:Regularly inspect the fuel injectors and fuel pump to ensure proper fuel injection. It is generally recommended to do this every 1000 hours or 24 months.

• Inspect Turbocharger:Regularly inspect the turbocharger to ensure it is operating normally. It is generally recommended to do this every 1000 hours or 24 months.

• Inspect Valve Clearance:Regularly inspect the valve clearance to ensure the valves are functioning properly. It is generally recommended to do this every 1000 hours or 24 months.

• Inspect Exhaust System:Regularly inspect the exhaust system to ensure smooth exhaust flow and prevent excessive exhaust back pressure.

Starting and Operation

• Regular Start-Up:Even if the generator set is not frequently used,it should be started regularly. It is recommended to start it once a week and run it for 15-30 minutes to maintain lubrication and normal operation of all engine components.

• Avoid Long-Term No-Load Operation:Long-term no-load operation can lead to engine carbon buildup and fuel system blockage, which should be avoided as much as possible.

• Monitor Operating Parameters:Monitor the engine's temperature, pressure, voltage, and other parameters during operation to ensure they are within the normal range.

Environment and Storage

• Keep the Environment Clean:The generator set should be placed in a dry,well-ventilated environment to prevent dust and moisture from entering.

• Prevent Moisture and Rust:In humid environments, take moisture-proof measures, such as using desiccants or regularly applying rust-proof oil.

• Storage Precautions:When storing for a long period, drain the fuel tank, disconnect the battery, clean the engine surface, and apply rust-proof oil to key components.

Professional Maintenance

• Regular Professional Inspection:It is recommended to have a professional maintenance inspection once a year, carried out by professional technicians.

• Maintain a Maintenance Log:Keep a maintenance log to record the content of each maintenance and repair for tracking and management purposes.

By following these maintenance tips, you can effectively extend the lifespan of diesel generator sets and ensure they operate normally when needed.
