      Sand sweeps across the boundless Gobi Desert. Oil and gas exploration and development are in full swing amid the desert oases of northern Shaanxi. Though seemingly barren, this land is rich in energy resources and serves as a key stronghold for China’s oil and gas energy security. However, extreme harsh natural conditions and the lack of municipal power grid supporting facilities have long plagued onshore oil drilling operations with multiple challenges, including difficult and unstable power supply as well as severe environmental protection pressure.

      To solve the power supply bottlenecks in field drilling construction and ensure efficient, continuous and green exploration operations for Zhongyuan Oilfield drilling teams, KAWO has provided strong support by deploying 10 sets of self-developed 3.5 MW high-performance methanol new energy distributed power stations to the drilling construction site in the northern Shaanxi desert. Delivering clean, stable and efficient power supply, the equipment safeguards desert oilfield drilling operations and pioneers a new green power supply model for field oil and gas exploration.

01 Adapting to Harsh Desert Working Conditions to Solve Oilfield Power Supply Challenges

      The Gobi Desert in northern Shaanxi features extreme temperature differences between day and night, frequent sandstorms and harsh operating environments.
